Dr. Kokko's research is focused on risk and protective factors in the development from childhood to middle adulthood, such as child and adolescent characteristics that explain adult education and career development, continuity in individual characteristics over the lifespan, and the formation of well-being. She is the co-Principal Investigator of the Jyväskylä Longitudinal Study of Personality and Social Development (JYLS; https://www.jyu.fi/ytk/laitokset/psykologia/en/research/jyls) and leader of the Lab for Midlife Development (https://www.jyu.fi/ytk/laitokset/psykologia/en/research/labs/midlife_lab) She analyses data from the JYLS. Her research is funded by the Academy of Finland
