Parenting and Aggression

Description: This group is currently examining the influence of harsh punishment on children’s externalizing behavior. What are the variations in parenting that may have different influences on behavior? Are their contextual influences (e.g., race/ethnicity, SES) on these processes? Can externalizing behavior be dis-aggregated into sub-constructs with differing patterns across time and variations by demographic factors?
