A psychiatric epidemiological survey of 1,070 inmates in 63 Michigan prisons, prison camps, correction centers and residence homes.

International Perspectives on Racism

A Fall supplement to the bi-annual European Barometer Survey of 12 European Economic Commission member countries. Approximately 12,000 respondents, 15 years of age and older, were interviewed in their homes.

Ethnic Influences on Psychiatric Diagnosis

1991-1995

Investigation of whether black-white differences in schizophrenia and affective disorders are due to the differential application of diagnostic criteria or to race differences in symptom presentation. Approximately 1,500 adult inpatients were interviewed using a test/retest format with either a clinician structured interview or an interview based on the DSM-III-R Checklist. Data were also collected from patient charts and a psychiatric history file maintained at the Detroit Psychiatric Institute (DPI).
